Free Alcohol Sales Training |
Retailers play an essential role in reducing underage access to alcohol. Responsible retailing practices are key to preventing illegal alcohol sales. But it takes more than just telling your staff not to sell to minors. Responsible retailers need specific policies, backed up by training and accountability, which enable staff to say, "If I sell to you, I'll lose my job and may be arrested."
SACC is dedicated to responsible retailing of age-restricted products to reduce underage sales and service of alcohol by beverage licensees and highly recommends the two most reputable trainings in the State of Ohio.
Training for Intervention ProcedureS (TIPS)
SACC has a Certified TIPS Trainer on staff and offers trainings when it is most convenient for you and your staff. TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) is the global leader in education and training for the responsible service, sale, and consumption of alcohol. Proven effective by third-party studies, TIPS is a skills-based training program that is designed to prevent intoxication, underage drinking, and drunk driving. TIPS trains servers, sellers, and consumers of alcohol how to prevent intoxication, drunk driving, and underage drinking. Proven effective through independent research, TIPS can meet all your alcohol training needs. With over 3 million certified individuals across the US and beyond, many businesses already enjoy the benefits of TIPS. Please contact Adorn Grabarczyk at (419) 826-1222 for more information.
ODPS Investigative Unit Alcohol Server Knowledge
The Alcohol Server Knowledge (ASK) program is designed for liquor permit holders and their employees. Agents from the Ohio Investigative Unit provide instruction on laws pertaining to the sale and/or consumption of alcohol and tobacco. Agents also cover topics such as false identification, employment of minors, along with penalties for those found in violation.
The program is FREE-of-charge and employees will be mailed a certificate of completion from the Ohio Investigative Unit upon completing the class. If interested, contact Jackie Snyder at the Ohio Investigative Unit at (614) 644-2415 or by e-mail at jdsnyder@dps.state.oh.us.
